China's Law on Diplomatic Personnel

The eleventh meeting of the 11th NPC Standing Committee in Beijing closed on october 30. its five-day bimonthly meeting, adopted a law on diplomatic personnel.

The law defined the duties of diplomatic personnel stationed abroad, conditions, obligations and rights, provides for duties and title of class, send, recall and repatriation system, and clear the spouses and children of the relevant circumstances.

 

Diplomatic personnel stationed in foreign law, diplomatic personnel stationed abroad should have a good political qualities and behavior, with the expertise required for competent, working ability and language skills.

The law also stipulates that one of the following circumstances shall not be employed as diplomatic personnel stationed abroad: have been criminal punishment of crime; have been dismissed from public service; state organs have been dismissed; holders of foreign long-term or permanent residence permit; the spouse has a foreign nationality, holding a foreign long-term or permanent residence permit; and in other situations.
